The concussion of icon painting
In the cultures
of Eastern Orthodox Church and Roman Catholic; Icon painting is a
depiction of religious values. It emerges
from the spirit and mind of the church and not a result of individual fantasy. It
reminds us that the Christ is present everywhere by his holy spirit. If one
lives his/her life by the baptism and seal it in its spirits then the risen
Christ lives in him/her. Icons teach us the reality of divine kingdom. The
presence of an icon in a house blesses the house; the Christ who is present to
us offers forgiveness and transformation. The icon of the Crucified reminds us
of the unlimited love of the Son of God.
One has to feel the sacred embellishment in itself to
understand the fundamental rule of Icon painting. All transparent layers follow symmetry and surrender to the supreme
power. The awakened personality heads to peace from confusion. It encourage
him/her to engage in a temporarily leave moment from daily hassles
and reconnect with god in prayer. The awakened aura gets multiplied with the
surrounding and our society meets a unique humanity.
